# 404 page

A 404 error shows when a page is not found.

Sometimes this can be because a customer clicks on a link which leads nowhere, or maybe they have typed a URL manually, which then takes them to a non-existent part of your site. You may have sent out a link to a product or page on social media and then at a later date, removed or altered the location of this.

When the customer hits that endpoint, where the location is no longer valid, they will see a 404 error.

You have a 404 error page and can edit the text the customer sees.

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://koding-themes.gitbook.io/theme-support/atom/templates/404-page.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
