# Collection list

Showcase featured collection pages with complementary collection information including the collection name and image. This is a simple but powerful section for your storefront to highlight popular collections or collections that contain products you would like customers to learn more about.

### Getting Started

* Go to `Online store` → `Theme` > `Customise`
* By default, you will see you predefined list of sections
* To add the `Collection list` section, scroll to the bottom of the panel and `Add section`

#### How to use configure the Collection list section?

Almost every section includes both section settings and block settings. Blocks typically represent pieces of content that are customisable that can also be repositioned within the section itself.

By default, when you add this section it will display onboarding/placeholder information until changed. So lets start by adjusting the section.

#### Configuring the Section

Here we can adjust the following;

* **Paddings**: Adjust the top and bottom padding of this section to control the whitespace.

#### Configuring the Block

You can add up to 6 blocks using this section and change the collection you want customers to see. The featured collection image will show if assigned, otherwise the image of first product in the collection will show.

As a fallback, if the collection no longer contains products, a light grey background will display.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://koding-themes.gitbook.io/theme-support/sections/collection-grid.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
